On 10/20 it was the pleasure of Civitan sisters Vicki Findley, Eve Fletcher, Beth Halstead, and Karen Schwering to spend two hours with six of the girls from the Ruth House. We brought five big bags of linens and clothing that the girls will either use or sell in their thrift shop.
After two hours we were “all talked-out”. We confirmed with the girls and Rebecca that four members of Hometown Civitan would return for another discussion on 11/11. Our meeting ended with hugs and smiles as we told the girls we were counting on them to keep striving to reach their full potential.
On October 17th, about twenty-five of our sisters put on their tennis shoes, their Hometown Tees and their pink Tutu’s to walk for American Cancer Society “Making Strides” Walk in Ocala. HOMETOWN CIVITAN CLUB sisters raised $1,165 for the fight against Breast Cancer and had a fun day with beads, boas and tutu’s in the process!
