Beacon College is an accredited, liberal arts institution of higher education, which uniquely serves the educational needs of students with learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and other learning differences.
This grant will provide support for a student.


The Club is composed of a group of intellectually and developmentally disabled persons who meet to work on projects to help their community and offer leadership opportunities for it’s members.
This grant offers support for social and fundraising events.
Civitans at the Helm is program of fundraisers on behalf of the Civitan International Research Center (CIRC) located at University of Alabama Birmingham.
Civitan International has donated in excess of $21 million to date with commitments for an additional several million in future years.
CIRC has emerged as a world leader in the research and treatment of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) which impact the lives of one in six people worldwide.
This grant is made by Hometown Charities and Hometown Civitan in addition to the regular support through dues.
2024 Grant Recipients

As the first college in the nation accredited to award bachelor’s degrees exclusively to students with learning disabilities and ADHD, Beacon College remains committed to student success, offering academic and personal support services that help students achieve their goals. We are truly a community — welcoming, accepting, and supporting each member of it.
This grant will provide financial support for a student.

The Wildwood Soup Kitchen serves the poor, the hungry, and the lonely by providing healthy, nutritious and appetizing meals to all who request it. We deliver meals to shut-ins and others who are unable to come to the Soup Kitchen. The soup kitchen also offers in-house, take-out and drive thru service.

Shepherd's LightHouse is a place where single mothers and their children can call home while learning the skills to become a productive family unit in society. The staff and volunteers at Shepherd's LightHouse are committed to helping them face challenges with confidence. We want them to set life goals and complete the course to independence.
This grant provides meal support for the families.

Pace provides girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training, and advocacy.

Hand in Hand is a non-profit, faith based residential addiction-recovery community for men and women. We make a difference by bringing hope, healing, and recovery to those in need.

To support the critical physical and psychological needs of children who have a Guardian ad Litem assigned to them & to support recruitment, training, and retention of the volunteers who advocate for these children.

Patriot Service Dogs trains quality service dogs for military veterans struggling with mobility, PTSD, and MST, using the skills and dedication of women incarcerated in Florida's largest women's correctional facility. This dual purpose allows us to serve veterans and to uplift incarcerated women with life and job skills.

Our Moment Cafe's mission is to provide a safe and supportive social environment for caregivers and those they care for with early stage memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
HCC/HCI provides more than just annual grants in funding to select charities. We serve on their Boards, sponsor/pay for celebration events, donate time to perform work tasks and support their fund-raising activities.​
